I’m excited to finally offer these rods! After a long search through manufacturers in Japan and China, I found what I was looking for: an affordable tenkara rod that balances a sturdy feel with great action.

Sourced from Japan and finished in a fun purple color, the Badao—a name that evokes power and strength—is the rod I typically use when teaching and guiding. It’s a great choice for anyone getting started with tenkara, and a versatile option for experienced anglers, too.

At approximately 12 feet, it offers plenty of reach, while its 7:3 action combines a responsive tip with a firm backbone. Lightweight and compact when collapsed, it’s easy to bring along for your next day on the water.
